BETWEEN THE MOUNTAINS AND THE PLAINS
24 x 36, oil on canvas, $2950., including frame
A few years ago, I went with some painting friends out to Ruidoso, NM for a week of plein aire painting! We had a great time, runing up and down the hills and mountains, searching out beautiful scenes to paint. We all came home with too many rolls of film and some great plein aire studies with which to work up some larger paintings.
This scene, located on the highway heading down to the low plains, HAD to be painted!! The colors were magnificent... I added the sunset to add a little more drama, as if it needed MORE! The plants are called "Rabbit Brush".... I was tempted to add a little bunny in the foreground, but decided that might be a bit too much "romance" for this dramatic piece. But if you would like any wildlife added to the piece to personalize it for you, I will be happy to oblige!
Of course, it won't need special lighting to be fully enjoyed in any home or business setting.
Like many others here, Fredericksburg Art Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas is holding onto this one! Please contact them directly if you would like more information on purchasing this piece.
