GENEALOGY: After painting all day, using the right (creative) side  of my brain, I frequently spend my evenings doing genealogy research, using the left (analytical) side of my brain, on 6-8 branches of my family trees… one line has been especially interesting… the Crippens of Caldwell County, Texas.  Going back to 1620, I found 2 lines (Fuller and Rowley)  that came over on the Mayflower…which led to going back further into Scotland…. finding my MacAlister-Hamilton line, which led me to a trip to Scotland in 2008 to find the 200 year gap that I couldn’t find online….in the little town of Hamilton, I found all the Hamilton links, which then led me back to Margaret Tudor, sister of Henry VIII…and the James I-VI, Kings of Scotland (i.e., James I of England, son of Mary, Queen of Scots)… and then to Robert the Bruce of Scotland. It’s been an interesting journey and I’ve met lots of cousins I’d have never known about had I not taken that journey.
